Frequently Asked Questions About Our Dance Classes for Toddlers and Children
Our Magical Tots dance classes cater to toddlers and children of various ages, starting from age 18 months up to 6 years old. We suggest comfortable clothing for tiny dancers, with ballet shoes, trainers or bare feet. At Magical Tots, parents are required to stay with their child throughout their weekly class. For Magical Days Theatre School, the children can be dropped off and collected at the end of the session. We have special viewing days, usually at the end of a term, to showcase the progress of the theatre school performers.
We offer dance classes for toddlers starting from just 18 months old (or as soon as they are confidently walking), preschoolers aged 3-4 and children in Reception and Year 1, aged 4-6 years. Each class is tailored to the developmental needs and abilities of the specific age group and children in the class.
For our magical dance classes we recommend comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement, such as leggings and a t-shirt. Leotards or dance outfits are welcome – allow your tiny dancer to be creative! We also sell Magical Tots T-shirts which can be purchased as optional uniform and are super smart and comfy! Ballet shoes are our preferred footwear, but children can also wear trainers or use bare feet. For our classes that include a tap element, children are also welcome to bring a pair of tap shoes with them to their class. Please check our dress code guidelines for specific requirements for each class.
Parents are required to remain in the studio and hall spaces of our Magical Tots venues with their tiny dancer at all times. All Magical Tots are also invited to perform in our professional, fully staged, annual summer dance show at a magical local theatre to build confidence, develop performance skills and highlight their dance achievements to friends and family.
